Women Fly it Forward Flight Award Information
New for this year,
the Frederick Women Fly it Forward event is excited to
announce two essay contests
with two great flight awards!
Essay Contest Information:
Please read the following information carefully.
Essays will be judged by the Sugarloaf Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the winner contacted by April 21st, 2012. Becoming a pilot takes a lot of time and dedication, please visit Let's Go Flying! to learn how much of a commitment it is. Other writing contests not specific to the Frederick Fly it Forward event are available at: www.womenofaviationweek.org. Be sure to check them out!

One lucky future pilot will
receive:
- A monetary award to be deposited in an account at Frederick Flight Center for flight lessons in a fixed wing aircraft.

To participate, you must:
- Must have attended as a first time female flyer at the
2011 or 2012 Frederick Women Fly it Forward event.
(all ages)
- Register as a participant in the Women of Aviation Week website to track your progress (click here to register for free)
- Not currently hold any FAA pilot certificate (student
pilot excepted)
- Girls under 18 years of age must have a letter with
parental consent submitted with the scholarship essay
- Write a 500 word essay that covers:
- What inspired you to attend the 2011 or 2012 event
- Why you would like to become a pilot
- Why it is important to have more female pilots in aviation
- Show your commitment to becoming a pilot and aviation
goals
- Other helpful information about you
- Provide a current, one page letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well
- Your contact information: Name, address, phone number and e-mail address

- Register as a participant in the Women of Aviation Week website to track your progress (click here to register for free)
- Not currently hold any FAA pilot certificate
- Girls under 18 years of age must have a letter with
parental consent submitted with the scholarship essay
- Write a 500-1,000 word essay that covers:
- Women in aviation - this can be general in nature or about a specific person
- Why you want to fly
- Other helpful information about you
- Your contact information: Name, address, phone number and e-mail address

- Whenever your Entry is published by Women Of Aviation Worldwide, you will receive credit. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition.
